Although the accent is a bit shaky, Coach Tao Li explains with detail and professionalism.
This is very advantage lesson for the real table tennis up coming players and who participates T/T Tournaments to increase playing abilities. And really a good lesson for the coach too to teach their players. Amavi Junaid ITTF Level One coach and Club Coacher from Sri-Lanka..
How to contact the ball to get a high speed?
I have trained much to learn a simple loop & I think TT-player must do trainings to have progress in his/her game but counter loop I think has similar thechnique but we must play faster so using counterloop is more difficult. PS: i like your videos!
Thanks for sharing!
Amazing videos… thanks a lot. It helps me a lot and improve my skills. Please send me more… God Bless.
@hamid: Hmmm… they are YouTube embedded videos. Are you not able to watch videos on YouTube?

I have been a member of the Table Tennis University since January 2011. When I went to the website today to login. There was no box to login as usual. It is just asking for people to enrol. HOW DO I LOGIN NOW!!! My subscription is up to date and I wish to stay member. PLEASE CONTACT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!!
Very easy to undertand!
A very clear english for people who that is the second lenguage.
Maybe a slow motion will be usefull to wathch some tips.
Thak you, Fabio Tula.
was able to watch it today. excellent content, easy to understand. I am 62 and taking table tennis up again after several operationa and being totally disabled since 2001. my very limited fixed income prohibits me from being able to afford your program.
Good luck! Jon
I got no email for original watching then received this page. the following came up when i tried to watch:
“video not found or access denied.” above on screen .
despite following diretctions i was dissappointed that i was unable to watch. suggestions?
thanks, jonathan r. yates
I really respect you & your program. I watched 1-st video & understood that your lessons seem to be quiet good! I’m not a professional player but I like TT enough to work with you and… I would like to improve my game. More than, if I do would like to help the University anyway if it’s possible. So, I’ll keep my eyes in my inbox.
It’s not meant to be downloaded. If you want to see it again simply return to the website.
What gives you that impression? Coach Li played professionally for many years in China and he knows exactly what he’s doing.
nowadays i play in a very low league in germany, but a couple of years ago, when i was in my twenties, i played much higher. and from the first 7 minutes of the video i don’t get the impression that this guy knows what he is doing – at least not practically. would really like to see him play!
Why can’t I download the video if it’s free?
Thank you for your advice its awesome as always, look forward to your next tip.
has potential and it is obvious that he has command of his subject. unfortunately communication needs some work…terminology needs to be standardized .
thank you coach li for your tips.. i will use this technique.. keep on posting free tips so it will help us beginners to improve our play.. GOD BLESS U MORE!
When the short service without spin is at the center or line of the body then how to receive and how can be dominate on the point or in the rally.
Hi ! Quite useful. But how can I order the DVD about services w i t h o u t ordering a second DVD which does not interest me ??

That was very good, now all I have to do is go practise it. So let those video keep on coming…please…Coach Tao Li…maybe you Coach, you should think about opening a university here in Botswana, Africa.
Look’s good , I will try , Thank you !
big things come from small packages… great tutorial… thanks coach li and ttu.
Il video visionato è stato molto interessante ed istruttivo.
Tao Li comes across as very engaging and knowledgeable. Yet he is not speaking down to his audience. These clips have been insightful and well received. My game can only improve. Thanks big heaps.
Really liked this, Thanks.
very impressed, i play table tennis every dinner at work and in my break time, there is this one guy that i find hard to beat because of his short serve, i try to return it with spin which i think now is the wrong thing to do, just get it back over net should be my first port of call.
Thanks again i will inform you if it was successfull.
tony
it is good for beginers…..
It is good for beginers, but lack of sample
good video !! good impresion about the teacher !
nice one. i like her ability
I like this video.thank you very much.someday I need this again.
it is really very owesome & helpful.
Hello. Thank you for the free video. I thought that it was a good video. The introduction was too long and the teacher repeated himself too many times before he showed us in action with live balls and an opponent.
I think this kind of training video should specify for what level of the player. I don’t know if it is good for the beginner but useful for those have had experience.
cool
very important and useful this help person to make fast game
Very instructive lesson.
I wonder what Coach Li thinks of the way some of the young top players are attacking the same short dead serves, not with an open, suitably angled racket, but with a quite closed and horizontally stroked drive.
As in this youtube clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I8DDDAlwUjE
great lesson, looks like it would be hard to return when you put the extra side spin on it. I am looking forward to practicing the shots. How about chop
great lesson, looks like it would be hard to return when you put the extra side spin on it. I am looking forward to practicing the shots.
Very useful as I am trying to improve my short game
OWNED
i wish i was there to learn what they are teaching
I think that is a good class to start to return short dead serves
Me parece excelente el consejo de este entrenador, creo que es muy claro y explicativo
Informative. will definitiely try out the move
good instructions for players in the 500+ rating range and learning the game.
it is very good for table tennisplayers.
I think that is a good class to start to return short dead serves
Very good!!
i want to learn more because /everyday i play it at my house..
it’s good, and i want to learn more…
i wanna be a good player
i am so glade to learn the class.wish i will be a good player
I think that is a good class to start to return short dead serves.
Thanks for the comment. The purpose of the video wasn’t to demonstrate EVERY service return possible, but for Coach Li to show what he believes to be the most effective return.
As far as “not that much to learn”. That’s your opinion. We know we can’t please everyone, but at this point almost 400 people took the time to say they did get something out of video. So we’ll continue to share them.
not that much to learn………there are a lot of other ways in order to counter these serves
this video is good ,i found the method to explain is really good
Thank you very much
Karim from Morocco

This video is very helpful to me. I appreciate both watching the practice and listenning to the explanation from which I get other tips not directly related to the topic of the video itself. Thank you very much.
This video is very helpful to me. I apprecia
The information is very good, would be better if the talking was reduced and more time spent on seeing the Master demonstrating the correct action, even from different angles.

My December 7th enrollment at the Table Tennis Uni is now going well. Support staff quickly resent my welcoming email (giving the link to the members home page) which i had received immediately after joining up but had not seen as i had stupidly not checked my Spam Mail Folder where it had been sitting all along.
wow.this is table tennis at its best. keep it up guys.

many many heartily congratulations to scholarship winners of TTU .
more explaination that is good to get more knowledge about what you are taeching and more caoches can reflect it to their players.
I think a lot of talk should summarize their words and give examples
But I learned something.
Hi i am newbie trainer and these videos helped very much,i learn very tricks from these videos and i improve my game style.
Hi, I am a newbie trainer and this video helped me very much, but i need how to teach it to 10-15 kids in a class, and it have to be funny and interesting, how may i do? mail jose926@hotmail.com
Hi, I am a newbie trainer and this video helped me very much, but i need how to teach it to 10-15 kids in a class, and it have to be funny and interesting, how may i do?
TTU is now open please go here… http://www.tabletennisuniversity.com/
One more thing. I bought 2 videos on Loop and smash forehand mastery. They´ve been great and its the lessons are easy to follow.
In this regard, I want to post a request:
How can I deepen for having a more suitable feeling of the ball? It is been a lot of games where I´ve felt my strokes are not spinning the ball in both, forehand and backhand…flat strokes are useful in some phases but not the main ones!!!
Simply marvelous!!
Mainly because in my league we adults are not trained. This is simply fantastic, thanks for including EVERYONE in TTU.
Congrats for all your efforts!!!!!
I HAVE PURCHASED THE KILLER MASTER DVDs and is going through the lessons to MASTER the techniques.
A LOT OF IMPROVEMENTS
THANKS
When we can apply for the next scholarship and how we can apply?
-u can//jst keep on practicing
-i really like the video.it really helps a lot especially in some difficulties in receiving services..thanks to Coach Tao Li who make this video..
i wish i will be a table tennis expert someday….
hi
I wish i can be a pro table tennis player..
What an awesome video. Will you be able to teach serve and attack too?
I think that this guy could teach us better if he did the ‘show’ and some one else did the ‘tell’.
I would like to see and understand the serves that the really great players use.
Did not like having to give out friend’s email before I had a chance to see if I wanted to send it to myself let alone a friend.
Great idea….Table Tennis University web sire
Thanks
Lee
Nice, thank you very much.
What are you trying to prove here coach? that you’re better than him? Make your own video and show us for free. Though he’s not that good in English, he was able to explain it in details.
Excelente video de un especialista del tenis de mesa en la actualidad.
What he is saying is correct, but his poor grasp of the English language makes the video twice or 3 times as long as it should be & he is very long winded. I could cover the same content in a much clearer manner in about 4 minutes.
Also if I was pushing a short no spin serve, I would either push it back short or fast. Many of his returns were long & slow, which makes it easy for the server to 3rd ball attack. He mentioned the Flick at the beginning (although referred to it as the Flip), but did not go into it much or demonstrate it. However, the flick is the best option vs short no spin serves. I suppose it depends who the video is intended for.
Rory Scott (Horsham Table Tennis Club Coach)
it’s so good video. but i want to know the best way to receive the tall and short spin serves, both on the forehand and backhand?
Do you have the latest flash player mate? If you don’t, download it for free from adobe.com..
cheers!
The video did not play. What was the proper action for me to have taken?
Hello sir,i’m from philippines, and your video clips really helped not only me but also my co-players in table tennis,we’re in 2nd year hs.we really need to win our sports for our grade and you helped a lot.thanks a lot for showing us techniques and secrets on table tennis

Your video looks good. How much it gonna cost us?
vince
Very good video. Thank you.
very good !!. This is what I have looked for
It’s a very nice instructional video. The technical know how I learned from this video will be very much beneficial not only for me as a coach/trainer but also for the trainees under my supervision. Thanks a lot to tabletennismaster.com for providing this kind of instructional video.
Videos has been great. So, brilliant moves to watch. Really great presentation by your page.
Wish I could get a chance to be there.
Your video is very instructive. Thx.
Dear sir,
it’s a bad link . hope will up grade it .
thanks.
I like this video very much….The presentation is very clear as well as the main points….thank you….
Hi,I think this video is usefull both for me and for my students. Thanks
Hi
Now I have followed your advice on viewing it, it works perfectly. The Coach has a great manner and the two videos I’ve seen so far have expert content; also the picture is perfect. The background looks very dull though, there doesn’t seem enough room for table-tennis, and the walls are very pale.
But thanks
Pete
I need to improve my game.
hello video was good and interesting to watch it was good for a beginner whose struggling against long pimple
Thought the content, presentation and clarity of video excellent but technically it did not stream smoothly. The stream kept stopping to catch up. Perhaps I need to adjust something on the computer.
Excellent video, well done.
The demonstration by Tao Li at the end were very well presented.
I’m sure this will help many of us improve our service returns.
Thank you.
I want to know the more skills in table tennis especially in advance skills.
I’m very happy that in the website of facebook, there is table tennis that we can learn more to play..i hope that it will become success..
i like it!! it’s great technique….
hi!
i love table tennis it’s my like sport
thank you for accepting me as one of your student the video was great and wonderful it helps more on my training to become geat
I think the video is a very good one.Still, the video would have been a much-much better one if someone, a proffetional narrator, would have do the speaking as coach Tao demonstarte. I watched many times coach Tao, and learnt and benefitted from them a lot, so what i’m saying is it was pitty to make him explain what he’s doing – and struggling with words while doing it – instead of letting him do what he’s really good at – demonstrating.
excellent!!!!! very well explained it is difficukt not understand even for those who are not english!!! well done….
its good to see and hear from TTU, its a big help to give us tips on how to play a better table tennis, keep it up… i hope there is more to come.. GOD BLESS..
I think the video would be much shorter, if the coach spoke more clearly and flowing.
Really awesome! I hope someday, these professionals can come to Africa, Namibia and South Africa specifically. There are alot of young people that are really getting into the sport, and are serious about it.
N?A
he is best cotch.
thanks.
Portuguese to English translation
I train for some time, especially here in Brazil Recife / Pernambuco and give some instruction to children and adoslescente in some schools of public education, aiming at the best practice of table tennis and get them away from drugs and crime that later they are multiplicative sports agents teaching the technique to other young boys and adults with respect and responsibilities so that they can use the teachings in daily life and thus improving social relationships and practicing active citizenship for all, because our motto is THE WORD AND EXAMPLE MOVE DRAG. and I would love to spend the basics and advanced and so correct apreda who best understands the sport you who are the best people so they feel happy to play tournaments to play and teach all who want to learn and practice the sport in our parents. I’ll be very honored to be chosen for technicians to receive these teachings that I will pass on to my students and those who want to learn. thank you for the opportunity. ABTM

very good video for me and trying to handle spin ball, and also good speaking for me to listen ease.
Vely good. How you say, I wait for to understand this. He say many times same thing using english language to him,
… It is very frustrating for a native language speaker to listen to this….
It is nice way of teaching. But coach can show a rally and then explain as it will be easy. Quite informative and learning experience.

Sean
very nice, excellent video….,, thnks for sharing…
is a exellent video, you can play more easy infront a long pips player
Hi,
It was a good video. He showed good, simple and effective plays on serve returns. I’m wondering if there will be a video on more complex and harder serves. Serves that are faster and have heavier spin, lower on the bounce and placed in hard to react and reach places on the board. I would love that video.
Hi,
I watched these videos and in all sincerity are useful and interesting.
I have just a question
very often many players use long backspin services on a both side of the court ( back and forward side)
What is the best return to this service for an attacker player ?
When can I use a push or loop? How can I decide this choice?
Thanks
Thanks for the invite….
Very cool. I have always had difficulty playing against pips players. This video is very useful.
Deo.
Very good video would like more on mail list
EXCELLENT. VERY INFORMATIVE FOR BEGINNERS AND MID LEVEL PLAYERS. Where can i purchase the dvd’s.

The video es quite well done. But what would found more interesting is how to return services with different kind of spin. I have a medium level and what I find more difficicult when I play with higher level player is to start the game by returning spin services
Good job

I Learned how to return the short serves with spin.

Would you please show us the way to play with a chop player. best rgards
13.4 minutes of video. 9.4 minutes of talking. 4 minutes of demonstration. I would have liked it better if it was the other way round.

Can we put a slow top (just infront of net) instead of the spin you told.
Akshayy Garg

Awesome,….If my english is so bad, I’m sorry xD……….Well, What can I say? Excellent, because many of the best table tennis players need to practice some basic details in a match, above all, Returning Serves. God bless Everybody.-
Very detailed and helpful, reminding me the mistakes I always make.
very good video
nice vid very good info
Dear Sir,
Wonderful. To receive on the fore arm should be parallel to the playing surface and the blade held at 15 degrees to the vertical with a loose grip. The slow demonstration even the beginner will master the stroke.I will leave the comment later.i look forward to more such easy to learn tips.

This will be a good thing to practice table tennis
This is an excellent instructional material. Coach Li clearly touches the basic on returning short serves. Now I understand how to deal with such serves. With some practice, I believe I will be more confident in returning serves. But, I still need more techniques in returning other form of serves. Nice job!
Good luck to the launch of the much awaited Table Tennis University!!!

Deo
Suitable for players of all levels, be it amateur or professionals.
Good lesson but video is too long for this lesson and need to insert some serve return from matchs as exemple .
This video on returning short, no-spin serves was very helpful. I plan to put it into practice in my

Very good. I would have preferred a little more demonstation but all in all I did learn quite a bit. This is one area in which I suffer from confidence problems..so I’m hoping that what I learnt would would help quite a bit.
Excellent video and got a couple of good pieces of advice.
exellen job. its nice to know… that we have this page to learn tip like this
i personally enjoy all COACH LI DVD THANK YOU SO MUCH!
In principle it seems easier, in practice the position where the grip is changed becoming unstable, especially for me to play Chinese style. But I will adapt my services to paying attention. Ok!
High quality stuff, just like all your other videos. Thank you very much!
Excelent instruction video. This is one of my many mistakes in returning the short no spin serve. I use my wrist when returning this serve. As a result, it usually hit the net. Thank you so much for this valuable lesson.
Excellent. Thanks very much. Tao Li is a very good coach.
Next video you shoot, consider getting new electrical outlet plates. Those behind the table are both cracked at the bottom!
Do you guys ever have live teaching sessions for groups in Vancouver?
SM
Excellent explanation and demonstration by coach Tao Li. Very useful to improve my games. Thanks for the video. Can’t wait to see more.
This is very good video and very good advices. I sometimes have problem with returning and I loose a lot of point in returning . I think returning is very important because you don’t know about service of your opponent. I will do it in my play .Thanks.

Hi, Great , Good skill and good lesson. I have to learn more from you.
I really liked the way this was done. It was easy to follow and added to my game. Thank you for helping me understand the short serve and how to handle it. Very well done.
Coach Li explain it very simple and clear and easy to understand. Well done.
Thank you for the excellent video. Returning serve is not easy and requires a lot of training and practice. I wish Coach Li could produce a new DVD on returning serve in the near future.
Hi!
Thanks for some great insight, now I’ve learned another way on how to return the ball in a very effective way.
Hope to see more soon.

It´s a very good video for us to increase our skills and you should put others videos that help to develope our technics, thanks very much for the videos……I would like to increase my serve like pendulum, sidespin, backspin and some others……thanks a lot……Max
i like his suggestion .effective if given far from opponent and low.
it is very usefull for the players
Very good video Congratulations to all team !!!
Nice and educational. Hope to improve my service return. Thanks.
Thank you for the great video. Good clear instructions.
Good explanation for returning short dead balls that gives players techniques to practice.
Very good!
In my experience, while we all enjoy doing killer loops and spectacular shots, it’s the player with the better service and service return that wins 99% of the matches. These are, without a doubt, the most important skills to learn. Of the two, return of service is more neglected. I guess partly because you can practice serve by yourself but it’s hard to really practice return of serve except in a game situation where the opponent is trying to vary his/her serve and not let you get used to any particular serve. Anyway, any video on return of serve is definitely welcome! This is great, but my own complaint was that when the coach demonstrates the sidespin return of serve on the FH side, the camera angle goes side on and you can’t really see his stroke anymore. It would be good to employ BOTH angles (side on and front on) for ALL the strokes.
Thanks for the video and can’t wait for more!!!
mind blowing……………… it works
very detailed instruction.
As an intermediate player, I am always open to better understanding the fundamental techniques of the game and the coaching offered in this video certainly addresses and breaks down, step by step, the obvious yet unnoticed adjustments players make during a game. This information will ultimately help my game both, implementing them personally and/or observing my opponents reactions to my serves.
Can’t wait to see more
Hey,
For me, the video stops playing at 2:26. Any clues at to what’s wrong?
Very, very Good!
A very comprehensive video says all in the end . All my questions got answered . Thanks
Mahmood Ahmad Pakistan
good clear instruction
Very good instruction!. A lot of valuable information in just one lesson!. Now I know the difference between the Chop and the Push, why I put the foot of the same side as the playing hand under the table and when I put the opposite foot in front. Two thumbs up!!
Clearly demonstrated. Great.
I would like to say that the vedio was really sueful
so I should thank you all having done their best to provide
us with such helpful vedios.
please if there is the possiblities for you to grant more

simon baghdasarian
Wonderful video. English is not that bad, and particularly the backhand return is impressing- the “don’t use the wrist” is a must that is often not understood by most. Great!
Excellent instruction. May sound easier said than done. Will practice according to instruction and hopefully improve my game
Its really great video that we learned more on this type of technique. Thank you very much to coach Mr. Tao Li for sharing his unconditional talent to table tennis enthusiast. I hope he will share some other great techniques as what he did in this video.
Thanks for the video, very usefull and it will improve my table tennis…

Awesome video, nice learning.
Hope to see more of these videos.
Thanks.
As most will say it just needs to be spoken clearer. Otherwise the information
is good.
I ALREADY PURCHASED LI’S FOUR VIDEOS FROM EXTREMEM TABLE TENNIS AND THEY ARE A BIG HELP. THERE IS TOO MUCH THERE TO LEARN AT ONCE AND IT WILL TAKE TIME. I STARTED PLAYING AGAIN IN FEBRUARY AFTER ABOUT 40 YEARS. THIS VIDEO WAS REALLY GREAT AND HIS ENGLISH I HAD NO TROUBLE UNDERSTANDING. HE COVERED SOME THINGS TO THIS VIDEO THAT HE DID NOT COVER IN THE SERVICE VIDEO THAT I HAVE AND THAT WAS THE VARIOUS RACQUET ANGLES NEEDED TO RETURN VARIOUS SERVES.
tha’s great!
As a coach I find this session very refreshing knowing that I may be doing the same thing though a bit differently. Now i will take this on board ana follow the advice. A BIG THANK YOU…..Peter
Very nice guy and though his English was not so powerfull, he was very good on performing the exercise so everything was clear. Thanks a lot
I am a wheelchair player class 3 Greek champ and we play very much short balls on serves and this video was really useful.

too slow to buffer
I’m a malagasy pongist, I want to improve my technic.I think that your website is very fantastic. If you want I’d like to receive videos on wich I can improve my forhand spin and back hand spin.thank you very much
ok video
sorry the vedio does not play fully.
The video is quite good and useful from building up tactical intelligence stand point that is as important as technical requirements of the game.
Thanks for reminding us some of the basics the game that most of the time we overlap and get a bad habit of not applying them during a rally.
A couple practice will add more value to the video.
Video breaking up all the time but I got the idea
I m fan of your Tips
Thanks
Nice video, I am looking forward to see what next you have in store for us viewers. I am an active Table-tennis player (Tischtennis – Verband Niedersachsen e.V.) and Software Developer. I think the site can do with a little revamping; to take on a better look and feel of the game we all love so much! If the need arises you can contact me via my Email address.
i just want to whatch these videos, but i dont know why these are not playing.

Thank You, nice video, but I missed the flicks!
Bom video, muito interessante e mostra golpes de fácil execução mas eficazes, noções básicas extraordinárias.
Cannot view video, keep stopping 1min into it. Can you do something about it. Is there a problem with your feed??

This video is so nice to see in order to learn how to play table tennis well.
ain fact it is an amazing video from an amazing cauch…realy i love that video..I am looking forward to watch more video..thanks alot
I need to add something. You have to ways to return a serve. One is kill the ball at the net or return very hard to your opponents stomach. But try to hit to their weakest side.
There isn’t much to learn with pig pong. I mean you just have to play the game and you’ll learn. It’s the best game their is. I like darts also. Another fun and fast game that gives you good hand and eye coordination.
I learned on my own and I found the best way to return a serve is to always hit with under spin. This kills the ball and it just clears the net. It’s done most affectively with the back hand. A serve I like to do is just clear the net at the widest angle the returner must hit the ball hup and then I back hand it to the other side of the table and win a lot of points.
If more pool shooters play ping pong they would put away their cue sticks forever.
sorry but the video does not play in IE8 or Firefox 3.12 despite having latest flash player
please sent the video to me
nice video thanks
Nice video and Thank you !!!
Service return is the most critical part of this game and would like to see more of your expert advice..
hay coach,
i m happy with the tips you gave.it is interesting.i like table tennes like anything.help me with the latest informention time to time.
elija mutonyi
it is good manner to see the video
Very Good!
They’ll be released over the next week. We’ll keep you updated.
Coach Li demonstrated well the return of a short no spin ball . I found the instruction to be very helpful as this is one serve I do have a problem with if I’m not watching close when my opponent strikes the ball on his serve. If i am not expecting or detect the no spin ball,9 times out of 10 I’ll hit the ball long. Good instruction.
why the other videos not playing?
Nice video, looking forward to the next one.
Interesting and educative for all stages-J.Stanly ,ANTTC
oh that was amazing coach and he talked about the most important facts in table tennis
pls got more videos of that great coach
thank you
very good
It is good from you to send us time after time news about the table tennis
What happens exactly? Do you have the latest Adobe Flash Player?
Interesting instruction. Now I will need to practice it.
Hey coach and Tony…I must thank you guys for giving me an opportunity to ask the question…I am overwhelmed that my question got selected and answered by coach with a video…I am eagerly waiting for my evening session to try his tips….Thanks a ton for you guys to have such a nice video and ofcourse such a wonderful UNIVESITY
I tried twice as suggested and the video (Video #1) would not play. Thank you.
This is a good video and it’s exactly what I need to learn now. I’ve just lost my because of this kind of none spin short ball.
nice video, thanks :))
more videos please!
I have personallly seen Coach Li and had a little help out in setting up in the filming place when he was filming the first two videos of the pingpong series. He’s really very informative and a dedicated teacher. Thanks to him for the souvenir copies of the DVD.
I love this link
very nice tutorial from coach li.
I truly love table tennis and all the updates that I am receiving from this link, the videos and tips, I really like it. I like Timo, I learnt lot of techniques from him. I love this link.
great video. keep it up!
“topspin? smash it! dont be shy!” LOL
It is a really wonderful video by Tao Li. This web page has helped me in many ways to enjoy and learn more about this great sport.
I have no problem with his explanation.
thanks.
very useful instruction and demonstration.
Very good lesson. Well done instruction
very good video
nice video
Great lessons, Thanks coach Tao Li/Table Tennis Master.
Decent video. I think most players have already seen lots of video instruction (or from personal coaches) on how to return most shots, the footwork, etc. However, the instruction always mentions what the spin is going to be before the serve is performed. I think there should be a video showing the ball flight and instructing players on how to read the spin based on (obviously) seen rotation of the ball, how the ball is curving, and more importantly, those short, ultra-spinny serves that are cleverly disguised by a good server. In the beginner ranks, reading serves is simple. But in the more advanced ranks, reading serves is not easy. So doing a video showing a beginner how to read the serve of an advanced player would be nice.
this is very good video to trainning table tenis at University.
I think It need many teacher (Example male, female teacher) to increase interesting video or lesson.
Edgar, please refresh the page and the video should work if you have the flash player already.
This is one of the best coaching instruction you can get. How to apply in a real situation. Most coaches only teach the stroke and let you figure out it on your own.
i’m a begginer table tennis player and i’ve learned a lot of techniques.. i hope you will post more videos of advance techniques.. thanks and more power..
I have not yet seen them. I got the flash player, nothing appeared. Thanks
interesting video…his language skills doesnt matter because his movement and his compromise explaining every step to success is definetly awesome…i like it and i would like to say that i want to see more about him…great job Table Tennis University people!!
all the best for you guys,
regards from Venezuela!!
very helpful now that I saw it I will recommend to my friends
give me more tt videos, please!
very thorough coach. his repetition does enforce the technique recquired. worthwhile lesson. like the part about the natural tightness of the body. his english ok.
thanks coach
Thanks, appreciate the information. I’ll give it a try.
Return a serve it is always a critical part in table tennis. I think this is a good way to show some alternatives to handle short balls to the forehand and the backhand. Very good!
Good explanation and coaching. The video certainly enhances my skill. I did not realize that I don’t have to use my wrist at all.
WAS PRETTY GOOD PRESITATION, HIS ACCENT IS VERY HARD TO FOLLOW.
nice..! it really helps me a lot.
Very detailed, but kind of hard to understand at times.
I got a lot benifit from the videos to improve my table tennis skill all over. Now I can play pingpong more comfortable then ever. Thanks coach Tao Li/Table Tennis Master.
this video is exelent to practice your table tennis skills, because you can read the oponent moves and how to answer the service
wow! amazing!
I thought his English was easy enough to understand, although we have quite a few Chinese players in our club, so I’m used to it. I like the differentiation between power and angle and how to adjust. I will try that at our next practice. The biggest thing for me when moving into a short serve is that I tend to push too hard and allow my opponent first attack. Perhaps this will help w/that problem. Also something I haven’t heard before is the part about moving the left leg forward on the backhand so as not to leave yourself open to the wide forehand.
Please, send to my home address
Out standing. I have the think thirty mph, but hit forty too much of the time.
Thank you for your let me to a member of table tennis University.
Hope, I will get more courses from the University.
Thanks for all the great feedback! Some of you have been saying the video is choppy and lagging on you. Please give it some time to buffer. Let the grey time bar grow so that you have video to play. It’s in HD and lots of people are accessing it right now so please be patient!
Very good. Very basic
He’s a hacker!! (yeah, right!) I appreciate the lesson, it’s important to get the ball in play and give yourself a chance, you can’t slam a short shallow serve so placing it back short is good, also I like to add backspin, opponent will have to add loft to return, giving opportunity for fourth ball attack!
I have the tt master dvd set and this is an interesting addition worth a try. I tend to move my wrist too much to generate spin and control. Coach li has made it clear that it has to be the forearm with a steady wrist.
Looking forward to the next video…
The video is very good! We need more of it!
Thanks!
Ya good, thanks
this is the best movies i got about how to return the short serves and it’s ncredible how it’s so easy to do that
It is always good to work on the return of service so that you’re not giving your opponent to much
to work with. Very helpful
My greatest problem, recently, is how to hit against an antispin paddle. This one player’s paddle
has no grip whatsoever. Need help!
thanks for your instructive videos.
I did buy your Forehand Loop video and found it very instructive.
I did watch the video I thought it was very informative.
Thank you for sharing this excellent lesson.very benefit to me and improve my game .
Thank
Good.
Good thought he presented about controlling my serve return :
To control my power, add some spin.
Awesome techniques by sir tao li !
i need to learn long distance topspins. what shud be da foot movements for top spining a backspin push and a topspin counter. ie. how to top spin a ball coming spinning back and spinning front !
Great vid thanks! Looking forward to the next epi.
Nicely done! Looking forward to the next videos
Thanks Coach tao Li.
This video open my eyes as to how to deal with my problem areas in table tennis. I really appreciate your making of this video & I look forward to others as well.
I have a question, “How do I deal with long pimple chop returns?”
Thanks,
Michael
ty
Sir,
the technique given is very good, will have to practice it..English is also very GOOD ..can you provide the same in case of short balls with spin .
good advise on the stroke and the footwork. I will try to use this technique when I get a chance in the game. Thank you for sending this instructional video.
Great video very simple and ingenious.
I have all of your videos and it is great to see that you are re-inovating your teaching. Thanks for using English as I do have many Chinese dvd’s and I can’t make heads of tails of the great information rendered.
I look forward to seeing more, soon.
If the video is lagging on you just give it some time to buffer. Let the grey time bar grow so that you have video to play. It’s in HD and lots of people are accessing it right now so please be patient!
I understood the Coach’s English fine and the video quality was first-rate. Thank you for sharing this excellent lesson. I love the concept that pushing slightly on the side of the ball allows you to generate quality spin, a bit more speed and ensures the ball stays on the table simultaneously. The coach demonstrated fine footwork, balance and touch. You can even hear the rubber grip the ball on his heavy pushes. Overall, outstanding video. Many thanks!
Very good.. Enjoyed it… Really looking forward to the Long pips video… especially since I am an older player that uses them on both hands when I flip…ha..ha..
thanks, L.A.
I only saw one-half of it. Very, very good video, though.
Need to see this video to improve my game
Great info – I will be using what I learned on this video.
Thanks for your instruction .
I bit long winded, may need a script. step my step.. list advantages of side & no side spin returns.
Placing side spin on the ball, results in less power ( forward movement) and you won’t hit the ball off the table. Also it makes it hard for your opponent to judge his next stroke ( may cause an error ).
1.04 minuets then it stops why
Excelent video.
Help me understand what I needed to do to receive properly the serve from my opponent.
video only plays for 30 seconds
thanks, hope to get more videos from you.
Thanks for this sharing. Good advice, let me practice, practice and practice.
Good tips!
greetings from Holland
too complicate step to view our vadio. I still can not get it.
great video!!! ur dvds have helped my game a lot but this is next level stuff right here. how many more videos do you have like this? please send one on how to return smashes
Verry good information. Including examples sooner to accompany the talk might be a good idea.
Thanks mate I’ll try this my next match
The dvds have really help me also they are beging to ather players in the club,a number of players are waiting to take the dvd home and study the training and practice there shots. The dvds are and will be a great help for a very long time, thank you table tennis master.
hey at times i totally miss the ball even tho i see it. what happens is i tend to take my eyes off the ball just as it comes over the net. should i actually try to follow it until contact?
Thank you for your advice, I feel to hard to read the serve of my opponent I only can return the serve about 30% from my fore hand.
table tennis master is totally for the good of world table tennis please keep these videos coming.
I got a question of my own. I have a good forehand loop but often have trouble playing a good blocker. I like to attack early (2nd and 3rd ball) with my loop. The problem is, when playing a guy who just blocks… they just use my power right back at me and I have porblems with that. What advice do you have in playing against a blocker?
Hey coach li thank you for yours teaching. it is very useful for me.
I own all you 4 DVDs… and been looking forward to this. you guys continue to push the envelope… please keep sending videos like these
awesome thanks for such detailed video please send more
